My latest trip to Kenya turned into a wonderful leopard fest! Thanks to everyone who made my time at Kicheche Camp, Mara North Conservancy and Naboisho Camp, Naboisho Conservancy so enjoyable. It was also a pleasure to meet so many nice fellow travellers.

Once again Naboisho Conservancy in Kenya provided great leopard sightings, along with lions, elephants and general game.

The leopards, principally the two females Sankuet and her cub, and Spot, gave me wonderful photographic opportunities. There were also brief sightings of another unidentified female leopard who was extremely shy and took off before I could get anywhere near her. I could only take a few quick pictures of her with a 500mm lens.

Special thanks to my brilliant guides Evalyn and Martin and all the staff at Naboisho Camp for taking such good care of me. This camp is becoming a second home. A big thank you also to Angie, Menina, Becca and William for keeping everything working so smoothly.

Remembering Wildlife Leopard Festival, South Luangwa, Zambia, 21-26 June 2025.

I was lucky enough to join Remembering Wildlife photographer and founder Margot Raggett MBE, renowned photographer Tristan Dicks, and a group of other great people in South Luangwa, Zambia for the 2025 Leopard Festival, at Kukaya Camp, in association with The Bushcamp Company.

I then visited two other camps in The Bushcamp Group, Chindeni and Mfuwe Lodge. All three camps were exceptional in their own way, great locations, staff and service.

I have just returned from another visit to Naboisho Camp in Naboisho Conservancy, Kenya. Considering it is the wet season the weather was not too bad. We had some rain in the afternoons, typically around 5pm. It was never bad enough to stop me being able to go out on game drives.  The leopards proved rather more elusive than usual. There are at least four leopards habituated in Naboisho Conservancy, but I only managed to find one, Nadala. I did at least get to see her on a number of occasions. When I was last there in January I  managed to see all four leopards.

I experienced some other interesting sightings, including a male lion chased up a tree by buffaloes and kept trapped there or over an hour.  Another was a fight between jackals and a terrestrial eagle over a francolin bird that the eagle had killed.  Terrestrial eagle is the new name for what we all know as a secretary bird. I have no idea why this has been done.

I have recently returned from a safari to Olare Motorogi Conservancy and Naboisho Conservancy, both located in the Masai Mara area.

It was a wonderful trip, the highlight being that I was fortunate enough to once again enjoy many hours with a few of my favourite leopards. On my final day in the Naboisho Conservancy, I spent the whole day with a leopard named Spot and her two cubs. As is my usual routine, I depart from camp early with a packed breakfast and on this occasion my wonderful hosts at Naboisho Camp very kindly despatched a packed lunch, enabling me to stay with the leopards, so as not to miss any action!  It was my first visit to Naboisho Camp and I can say without hesitation that the rooms are the best I’ve had the pleasure to experience, with no comfort overlooked, well above what is expected at a safari camp. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make my stay a memorable one.  A special mention to my guide Martin and managers Angie, Menina and Becca. I will no doubt be returning in the near future.

I have recently returned from a wonderful trip to Kenya. Lots of my favourite leopards. I stayed at all four Kicheche Camps and enjoyed them all. Wonderful staff, service and food. I made lots of new friends, thanks to all who made my time there so enjoyable.  While away my email and both of my websites went down, they are now hopefully all up and running again. Apologies for any inconvenience.

I have recently returned from Londolozi in South Africa. Londolozi is a beautiful place famous for its leopards, and it did not disappoint. Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Varty Camp for looking after me so well, and to my guide and tracker Melvin and Milton.
